Hello, hello and welcome back! Today I would like to take a second to write about skincare and my thoughts on it. If you’re young, say under 18, dont stress. I didn’t start doing skincare for real until I was about 18 years old, and I’m doing perfectly fine. However, if you’re over 20 years, maybe it’s time for you to start thinking about your skincare routine.
See I have two routines, one for mornings and one for evenings. And actually, I’m very religious with them. Part of the reason I’m able to keep up with it, is probably that I keep it extremely simple. Like my everyday morning skincare routine consists of five steps, as well as my night time routine. Then, every single day I do something out of the ordinary for my skin. Like on monday I might do a face mask, and tuesday I’ll do a gua sha and oil routine. This makes it more realistic to keep up with. Here is a link to a possible week schedule:
Morning skincare:
Almost the first thing I do in the morning is my skincare. I wake up, hop in the shower and wash my face. I use CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil as well as CeraVe Foaming Cleanser. I found that doing an oil cleansing and a water cleansing works the best for my skin.
After that I go in with a vitamin C serum. I use the one from Lumene, nordic glow boost. I will admit it’s on the pricier side, but the ordinary vitamin C serum works as well.
I believe vitamin C is a recovering product from the sun. Supposingly, it’s really good for your skin, to help it heal from the sunlight. But don’t take my word for it, okay.
I then use an eye cream. Here is the thing, I have used many, and liked many. But I’m not really sure what they are supposed to do. The one thing I have noticed that I like in a cream, is if it has caffeine in it. I don’t know what it is, it just makes my eyes feel good and snatched, I guesse. I like the one from Kylie skin and also Eucerin eye cream.
Then it’s time for moisturizer. Don’t really know why I use this, but my skin looks good so I continue. I use the one from clinique called “moisture surge 100h”.
Lastly, the one thing we are all tired of hearing, but it is so important. Sunscreen. I know, you have heard it a million times, however, there is a reason. Sunscreen protects your skin from UV-light, which is a cause of both wrinkles and cancer. So be careful. I use one with SPF-50 and both UVA and UVB. Here is my favorite: Emma S,
Night skincare:
So for my night time skincare routine I know I said it’s five steps, but it’s more like seven ish. So I start by washing my face. This product I swear by: clinique take the day of balm. It’s a cleansing balm. So smooth, so gentle on the skin and all the makeup is washed off, even waterproof mascara! I have rebought this one like 15 times because it’s so good.
Then I use a micellar water, usually this one: GARNIER micellar water. This is just so I can be sure all the makeup is gone.
Next I go in with eye cream. To be honest, again I don’t know why, I just do. I like a thicker one for the nights to really focus more on the rehydrating part. This is my favorite from Clinique: all about eyes rich.
For serums I use three different: The Ordinary Niacinamid 10 % , The Ordinary Retinol 1% and The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2%. These I alternate between every single day. The reason is because your skin doesn’t need each every single day, so alternating between them works the best for my skin.
Next is spot treatment. See I have tried like a hundred of these, but never found something that actually works. Therefore I need your guyses help to find a good spot treatment. Please if you have one let me know!
Lastly is moisturizer to rehydrate the skin. My favorite is this one: . However, it’s on the more expensive side. Another one I really like is a night cream from Lumene. For lips there is only one answer, laneige lip sleeping mask. Literally works wonders.
That’s about it, my morning and evening skincare routine. Please check out my Pinterest post on a weekly skincare schedule here: Otherwise, I’ll see you guys next time, bye bye.
Until next time…
